Aquamarine Bracelet: I was walking along the beach one day and I saw at least 50 different colors. I saw them all in the same place, the same part of one wave. It’s a good thing that I don’t paint because this would have been an inspiration. I’m sure I would have run home, picked up my brushes and paint and ran back to the sea and sat there with an easel. Then people would have come to my exhibition, no doubt for the free wine and cheese. They’d have said polite things to me and general things out loud like; “what an imagination!” And on the way to their cars with their bellies full of wine, they’d probably have whispered, “why on earth would you use 50 different colors just to paint the ocean.” So as I said, it’s a good thing I don’t paint. Instead I just stood there and stared at the stunning water. Was this the color blue? Was that the color green? For sure the top of the wave became pink for just a second before falling into purple. The sun played games, the water fought back and no I’m not on drugs. But I still would like to know, is the ocean blue or green? Or is it aquamarine? Like my aquamarine bracelet.
I unexplainably stretched my arm out towards the sea. And I stared down at my wrist. It became unmistakable and so very clear that the color of the water is what mothered my aquamarine bracelet.
